South China MES Forum 2012 successfully held
On August 10, 2012, the South China MES Forum 2012 was successfully held in Guangzhou.
In recent years, MES applications have aroused more and more Chinese enterprises' interests. Since many factors like planning, material, logistics, human, quality, and equipment are involved, information management and control becomes the most important as well as the most vulnerable link in manufacturing process. Manufacturers now put more emphasis on improving production planning, real-time data collection and analysis, staff and equipment performance management, and process traceability etc.
Based on the idea of popularizing MES theory and technology to help manufacturers understand and effectively utilize them in planning, implementation, and applications, the MES forum is warmly welcomed by manufacturers and software vendors. Themed as "lean production & real-time management and control", the forum attracted over 200 manufacturing representatives, software vendors, and experts.
On the morning session, Dr. Pei Huang, the CEO of e-works made an open speech on Chinese manufacturing transformation and MES applications. Later, MES vendors introduced their solutions.
Ms. Yunyun Deng, SAP's senior software architect introduced SAP Perfect Plant Solution. Mr. Jun Mo, GEIP's business manager introduced GEIP's operation management solution. Mr. Shengtai Du, Camstar's South China development manager illustrated their visual system of manufacturing process and quality control. Mr. Zhiyong Zhang, RTDsoft's Senior Consultant analyzed how to build an effective and intelligent plant through mobile computing.
On the afternoon session of the forum, vendors from EWINsoft, BenQ Guru, Samsung SDS, and Epichust introduced their solutions. Besides, CIOs from Shenzhen H&T Intelligent Control Co., CVT Electronics Group, and BYD shared their successful stories.
The forum was ended in CIO salon in which CIOs discussed their MES problems on planning and implementation, data collection, and integration etc.
