March 17 2017, Beijing—Chinese Digital Enterprise Portal e-works announced that Chinese Industry and IT Convergence Forum 2017 successfully closed in Gehua New Century Hotel Beijing. The two-day forum attracts industry experts, CEO and CIO of well-known manufacturers to share views on the integration of Chinese manufacturing and internet and discuss the promotion strategy under the Made in China 2025 initiative.

More than 400 audience attended the forum including representatives from Phoenix, SANY, Huawei, C-BONS, Weihua Group, Harbin Pharmaceutical, Hitachi Elevator, Anhui HELI, YOFC, Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals, etc.

At the general session on March 16, e-works CEO Dr. Pei Huang delivered a welcome speech. Professor Peigen Li, Chinese Academy of Engineering Fellow, President of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society shared 10 hotspots respectively in Chinese manufacturing and information integration. Professor Li pointed out that smart manufacturing cannot be accomplished fast, it is a long journey. One important element task of smart manufacturing is digitalization and network. He urges government to actively support the smart manufacturing enabling technologies such as industrial IoT platform.

Mr. Nan Guo, Deputy Director of Software Engineering and Assessment Center, China Electronics Standardization Institute analyzed the recently issued Cyber-Physical Systems White Paper 2017. It summarized the home and abroad views on CPS and described Chinese practice of manufacturing and internet integration and current understanding on CPS.

On March 17, Dr. Pei Huang gave a speech of Frontier Observation on Smart Manufacturing and Industrial IoT and posed seven reflections on industrial IoT applications. Dr. Huang believes that the goal of smart manufacturing is the intelligentization and innovation of the whole value chain of manufacturing. Smart manufacturing is the further advancement of deep integration of industrialization and information, but manufacturers should also be rational and practical. They need to do input-output analysis to avoid haphazard investment.

Mr. Li Geng, Senior Engineer of China Electronics Standardization Institute comprehensively introduced the preliminary achievements of smart manufacturing standardization and the following planning. He said that the building of standardization system is a long-term and hard work that requires joint effort.

Manufacturing best practice are shared from five well-known enterprises: Phoenix, SANY, Tongwei Group, Changhe Automobile, and Midea Group. There are also 3 panel discussions on the forum, which respectively are smart manufacturing promotion strategy, internet and industrialization integration, CIO and IT department transformation trend.

The forum also includes the 14th IT Application Appraisal and Award Ceremony, on which announced the Chinese Manufacturing Innovative Enterprise 2016, Outstanding CEO 2016, Outstanding CIO 2016, Outstanding Software and Solution 2016, Best Practice 2016.
