The first Chinese Manufacturing Simulation Technology Application Seminar Successfully Hosted

July 31 2015, Shanghai—Chinese Digital Enterprise Portal e-works announced the successful conclusion of the First Chinese Manufacturing Simulation Technology Application Seminar in Shanghai.

About 130 manufacturing R&D executives and simulation engineers in automotive, machinery, electrics and communication, electrical appliance, and shipbuilding industries attend the seminar.

Dr. Pei Huang, e-works CEO firstly gave a keynote speech on “Innovation and simulation technology application in manufacturing”. He analyzed the significance of Germany manufacturing development model for Chinese enterprises and shared the latest innovation cases including Tesla, Hyperloop, Homekoo customized home furniture, and intelligent robots. He summarized some key digital technologies in supporting enterprise product innovation, including complete PLM applications, electromechanical and imbedded software integration, 3D design and CAD/CAM integration design, simulation-driven design, and 3D printing technology. Dr. Huang also suggested manufacturing enterprises to build product innovation platform and collaborative simulation analysis platform, and formulate standard system.

Dr. Huang believes that simulation technology is an important method in achieving product innovation. However, manufacturers are facing various challenges in applying simulation technologies. In order to help manufacturing enterprises solve their practical issues, e-works invited leading simulation vendors and best-practice manufacturing experts to share their experience.

Ansys China Technical Manager Mr. Haiqiang Ding gave a speech on “From good concept to good design—simulation driving product development”. In his speech, Mr. Ding pointed out that as product become more complicated and intelligent enterprises need robust design to improve product reliability, research and development and simulation efficiency. Mr. Jieyong Xu, PERA Global Vice President talked around “simulation drives product innovation from concept to practice” and analyzed key factors influencing product research and development in China in terms of simulation technology. Followed him, Mr. Shaowu Gao, Dassault Systemes SolidWorks Shanghai Senior Technical Sales Manager, Mr. Qiang Yu, Anwise Virtual Prototype Consulting Business Manager, Mr. Yijun Zhou, Wellture Enterprise Application Development Manager, and Mr. Jiyuan Ye, ZXlerning CEO, well-known CAE expert gave speeches respectively.

In the panel discussion session, six guests together discussed the planning of simulation technology in different application stages, the issues of selection, platform building, and simulation result confidence.

Panel Discussion

e-works has consecutively hosted Chinese PLM Application Summit for 11 years. Simulation Technology Application Seminar was a sub-forum of this Summit. Given the importance of simulation technology to supporting product innovation, e-works believes it is necessary to hold it separately. The first seminar has received highly recommendations from manufacturing simulation engineers, software vendors, and service agents.
