Ji Zhou, Co-chairman of International Coalition of Intelligent Manufacturing, Chairman of Intelligent Manufacturing Alliance of CAST Member Societies, CAE Member

” At present, the new round of scientific and technological revolution, the fourth industrial Revolution and the strong demand for high-quality development of the world's manufacturing industry are converged at the historic point, intelligent manufacturing. It has become the consensus and the common strategic choice of all countries to promote intelligent manufacturing and lead the high-quality development of manufacturing industry,” said Ji Zhou in his welcome speech.

Yi’an Liu, Chairman of Nanjing CPPCC

Yi’an Liu, on behalf of the Nanjing government, warmly welcomed all the guests attending the conference.“Aiming at key technologies, development priorities, and the latest trends of intelligent manufacturing, the"2020 Intelligent Manufacturing Report" and "Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Roadmap" released at the conference will indicate future direction and development path and further explore intelligent manufacturing cutting-edge technologies so as to speed up the digitalization, connection, and intelligence of manufacturing industry,” said Liu.

Weiming Shen, Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Fellow of Engineering Institute of Canada

Weiming Shen elaborated in the keynote the agent technology and its application in intelligent manufacturing. He said agents mainly covers distributed artificial intelligence, digital twin, industrial Internet, Internet, sensors, and block chain technology and can be applied in smart city, smart earth, smart furniture, and smart buildings. It can also be applied to intelligent design and manufacturing, including collaborative intelligent manufacturing between machine layer, workshop or factory layer, supply chain layer and after-sales layer or smart scenario service layer.

Andrew Kusiak, Professor of The University of Iowa, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing

Andrew Kusiak in the keynote Digital Manufacturing, mainly shared his understanding of digital manufacturing and emerging architectures of open manufacturing, manufacturing as a service and resilient manufacturing. Among them, resilient manufacturing can be achieved by delaying product differentiation and reconfigurable manufacturing. “Despite the current challenges, challenges can also be turned into opportunities by leveraging data, improving digitization of the industry. More small enterprises moving to the cloud will bring greater social benefits and gain more optimization opportunities,” said Andrew.

Liang Gao, Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology

Liang Gao shared the forecast and roadmap of intelligent manufacturing technology towards 2035 from perspective of research significance, production and process, technology list, and details.
He pointed out that the intelligent manufacturing technology foresight and roadmap is a blueprint and a consensus framework on the technological direction, key technologies and technological routes of intelligent manufacturing. It can lead the orderly development of intelligent manufacturing technology and has important application value in supporting scientific decision-making and define development path.

Yasushi Umeda, Professor of The University of Tokyo, Japan

Yasushi Umeda shared Recent Advances in Intelligent Manufacturing in his keynote. He introduced the latest developments, related concepts, historical review and major research institutions in the field of intelligent manufacturing in Japan and some new concepts such as digital triplets and 5.0 society. “The characteristics of the intelligent manufacturing research in Japan including software interconnection, artificial auxiliary, IoT-focused CPPS education and sustainability. We hope to strengthen digital transformation through lean manufacturing and continuous improvement system, or to assist engineers from physical and mental through leveraging digital twin and CPPS,” said Yasushi.

Fangyu Peng, Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Associate Director of Institute of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology of JITRI, General Manager of National Innovation Institute of Digital Design and Manufacturing

Fangyu Peng shared the keynote of Intelligent Manufacturing Drives High Quality Development of Manufacturing Industry -- Practice of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology in Jiangsu Province
He introduced in detail the practices of Jiangsu province in economic development, state-supported projects, provincial-level pilot demonstration, supporting industries, industrial Internet development, and ecological environment, and put forward suggestions on the development of intelligent manufacturing. In his opinion, Jiangsu should drive intelligent manufacturing by industrial development, application popularization and ecological innovation.

Weijun Zhong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of Southeast University, CPC Secretary of the School of Economics and Management

Weijun Zhong gave the keynote of Construction Path of Independent and Controllable Modern Industrial Technology System in Jiangsu Province. He pointed out that autonomous control system of modern industry technology in Jiangsu should take the enterprise as the main body, so as to transform the production of low value-added products to the high value-added new products as the main direction.

Xudong Kang, President and Professor, R&D Institute of Technology, Dalian University of Technology

Xudong Kang shared his research on Developing the High End, Focusing on the Core -- Research on the Development Strategy of High-end Engineering Equipment and Core Parts Industry in Jiangsu Province, in which, based on large-scale patent data, market data, and industry data and field investigation, expert consultation, he deeply analyzed the current situation, problems and reasons in high-end equipment manufacturing and core parts industry in Jiangsu province combining quantitative and qualitative methods.

This conference has important guiding significance for grasping the development trend of the world's intelligent manufacturing technology and clarifying the guidelines and priorities for the development of China's intelligent manufacturing technology.
