FAW-VW plans factory in central China
FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Volkswagen AG's joint venture with China FAW Group Corp., plans to build an assembly plant in the central China city of Wuhan, according to local media.
The joint venture's executives are in "intensive talks" with Wuhan's city government about the project, reported Hubei Daily, a newspaper owned by the Hubei provincial government.
Further details on the talks are not available.
Wuhan -- is the capital of central China's Hubei province -- is home to major Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor Corp. Global automakers Nissan Motor Co., Honda Motor Co. and PSA Peugeot Citroen also have joint ventures in Wuhan. General Motors also is building a plant in the city.

The company produces Audi and Volkswagen vehicles.
In the first five months of this year, the joint venture sold 138,740 Audi vehicles and 362,268 Volkswagen models, up 62 percent and 20 percent respectively, according to LMC Automotive.
