Spain's Gestamp Automacion to build plant in south China
Spanish metal parts supplier Gestamp Automacion has won local government approval to build a $120 million (764 million yuan) factory in Dongguan of South China's Guangdong province.
Construction will start in July. The plant will launch production in May 2013, according to the municipal government's Website.
The plant will supply body and chassis components to a Volkswagen assembly plant to be built in the city of Nanhai, as well as an assembly plant which PSA Peugeot Citroen will build in Shenzhen.
Gestamp Automacion now operates three plants in China. They are located in Kunshan of East China's Jiangsu province, Shenyang of northeast China's Liaoning province and the southwest China municipality of Chongqing.
