Shanghai OnStar launches navigation service
Shanghai OnStar Telematics Co. says it has introduced a turn-by-turn vehicle navigation service that Chinese subscribers can access with their smartphones.
Subscribers can download the navigation application free from OnStar's Web site.
After motorists identify their destination by using their mobile phones, OnStar responds with voice-operated turn-by-turn directions.
Shanghai OnStar is a joint venture formed by General Motors, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. and Shanghai GM in 2009. OnStar provides roadside service, emergency crash response, vehicle diagnostics and other services.
