ASUS establishes computer base in Chongqing

The ASUSTeK Computer Incorporated Company (ASUS) officially signed a contract with the Chongqing Municipal Government on April 12 to establish the ASUS Global Computer Production Base, also known as the ASUS Second Operation Headquarters in China, in the High-tech Industrial Development Zone of Chongqing.

This is the second ASUS operation headquarters in China following the Eastern China Operation Headquarters. The operation headquarters will combine functions such as OEM (original equipment manufacturer) management, marketing settlement services as well as research and development, and will become an important base for ASUS to expand the market of western China.

As an important strategic measure for ASUS to expand its market in western China, ASUS plans to invest a total of 150 million U.S. dollars in the Chongqing region in the next few years. By 2015, it will form a scale of production with an annual output of 30 million intelligent terminals (including but not limited to laptops and tablet PCs) and will establish the ASUS Second Operation Headquarters Building and other supporting facilities in the Shiqiaofupian district of the high-tech zone in Chongqing to establish the ASUS Global Computer Production Base.
