China's export volume of leather products grew 17.4 percent to reach 9.63 billion US dollars in the first six months of 2005.
China's export volume of leather products grew 17.4 percent to reach 9.63 billion US dollars in the first six months of 2005, according to figures released by the Ministry of Commerce. Statistics show that the export of raw materials and leather shoes enjoyed a rapid growth in the period. The export volume of peltry increased 30 percent on a year-on-year basis, while that of leather shoes rose 26.7 percent in the period. A significant change in the export of leather products in the period was the increase of unit price. Although the export quantity of leather garments dropped in the January-June period, the total export volume increased 5.6 percent on a year-on-year basis, according to the ministry. |
