Lear to expand Shanghai HQ to support Asian operations
Supplier Lear Corp. plans to expand its regional headquarters in Shanghai to accommodate its fast-growing operations in Asia.
The company plans to build a 28,000-square-meter (301,389-square-foot) center to house 800 employees.

According to Lear, the expanded headquarters will support the activities of 31,000 Lear employees in 11 Asian countries. Last year, the company's consolidated Asian revenues totaled $3.2 billion (21 billion yuan).
Lear, of Southfield, Mich., produces seats, electrical systems and components for connectivity. Last year, global sales totaled $18.2 billion.
