e-works successfully organizes 2016 ‘Exploring Industry 4.0’ delegation to Germany

May 7, 2016, Wuhan—Chinese Digital Enterprise Portal e-works announced the successful conclusion of 2016 Spring “Exploring Industry 4.0” delegation to Germany. Over 30 elites from well-known Chinese manufacturing enterprises and software vendors together visited 4 manufacturers, 3 software vendors, 1 service provider, and HANNOVER MESSE 2016.

On April 19, the delegation came to the first stop—Neugart, a hidden-champion company in gear reducer industry. With more than 88 years of history, this family-owned enterprise had a rapid growth in last five years with a high market share and revenue of 80 million euro. In the afternoon, the delegation visited MPDV, a global leading MES vendor. It has more than 35 years of experience in MES industry with 11 branches around the global.

On April 20, e-works delegation visited SAP headquarter. Founded in 1972, SAP has served 86% of Fortune Global 500 companies, providing solutions of enterprise applications, big data analytics, real-time computing platform, cloud computing, and industry 4.0 for enterprises to achieving business innovation. Mr. Bernhard Meyer, SAP Machinery Chief Adviser shared several big technology trends: IoT, mobile computing, M2M, social media and big data analytics. In the afternoon, they visited Festo Scharnhausen plant in Stuttgart. With revenue of 2.5 billion euro and 18,000 employees, it is a model of industry 4.0 and an excellent paradigm of advanced manufacturing in Germany.

On April 21, e-works delegation visited Trumpf headquarter in Ditzingen. Founded in 1960s, Trumpf started to involve in laser industry and built a world-leading laser device in 1980s. The delegation visited laser cutting machine, blanking machine, bending machine and automatic loader and unloader. They were very impressed by the processing efficiency and precision and highly appreciated their global leading machine tool process technology. In the afternoon, the delegation visited Benz Sindelfingen Plant in Stuttgart. The plant was built in 1915 and now has more than 350,000 employees and equipped with 5,000 industrial robots. The major processes of automobile production include stamping, welding, coating, and assembling. The delegation visited Benz stamping, welding and assembling workshops.

On April 22, they visited SUPPLYON, a world-leading SCM and EDI company, headquartered in Hallbergmoos, Munich. SUPPLYON’s supply chain collaboration platform has attracted many manufacturers to join in, including Airbus, Bosch, Continental, Qoros, Siemens, Webasto, Yazaki, and ZF. The last stop of this investigation is Sycor, a global software service vendor, mainly providing implementation, consulting, integration and operation and maintenance services. As a partner of SAP and Microsoft ERP, Sycor is also doing e-business online shop platform, ECM, and ICT.

On April 25, the delegation visited HANNOVER MESSE 2016. The most important theme in this year is “industry integration to explore the future”. More than 5,200 exhibitors from 75 countries and areas participated in the Messe, in which Chinese exhibitors are over 600, second to Germany.

It is the fourth e-works delegation to Germany for exploring Industry 4.0 and intelligent manufacturing. At the end of this journey, delegation members had an in-depth discussion and summarization of what they have learned combining their own industry and work experience. “It is very useful and practical and we have learned a lot, said the delegation members.
