Chinese Childrenswear Brand Leyou Begins Life with Centric PLM

Leyou, the Chinese children and baby fashion and accessories brand, has selected Centric Software’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution. Leyou Babies to Kids (Leyou) was established in Beijing in 1999 and is a leading retail chain for baby, children and maternity wear in China. Leyou has an extensive brand portfolio including greatfamily, a high-end children’s apparel brand, and Ubee, which focuses on childcare and diaper products.
 
 
Even with the digital retail transformation occurring worldwide and especially in China, the brand's innovative approach and technical capabilities have kept it ahead of the curve. The company was the first retailer in China to adopt a sophisticated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Its use of apps, online stores and chain stores as part of an online and omnichannel business model provides one-stop professional service and a convenient, integrated shopping experience for consumers.

As Mr. Gong Dingyu, Brand Founder at Leyou, says, “Our brand was born digitally native however, we needed to take the company to the next level. As childrenswear now takes its cue from adult apparel trends, time to market gets faster and faster. In the age of e-commerce, the response time of supply chains has to keep up with increasing consumer expectations and desire for newness. A digital management platform that encompasses all processes is necessary to centralize resources and react to market changes quickly and efficiently.”

After initially considering supply chain management solutions, Leyou realized that a PLM solution would be a more suitable investment for the company, as only PLM can fully digitize information and connect operations across the entire product lifecycle to bring products to market quickly rather than focusing solely on the supply chain element.
