Aerospace Supplier Collaborative Hub Accelerates Application of Mapped Business Processes and Speeds Time to Market.

Paris Air Show, Le Bourget, France, June 18, 2007- Dassault Syst¨¨mes (DS) (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced the availability of Aerospace Supplier Collaborative Hub (ASCH), a business process accelerator (BPA) for aerospace risk-sharing partners and suppliers who hold program design responsibilities.  ASCH is based on ENOVIA SmarTeam¡¯s collaborative product data management platform and embedded within CATIA PLM Express, DS¡¯s SMB solution for virtual design excellence.  Thanks to ASCH¡¯s mapped business processes, designers can efficiently ensure compliance throughout the supply chain and with industry standards, quickening the approval process and ultimately speeding time to market.

¡°ASCH provides middle players a collaborative infrastructure allowing them to work smart, building loyalty with OEMs and freeing bandwidth to expand business,¡± explains Bruno Latchague, executive vice president, PLM Business Transformation, Dassault Syst¨¨mes.  ¡°With tight program deadlines, designers must be able to launch the design process in a format that seamlessly communicates with OEMs¡¯ systems and can pull down the right component information from master 3D data sets.  This avoids designers integrating out of date or no longer compliant parts and having to make unnecessary reworks.¡±

¡°Nowadays, building an aircraft is more complex than ever.  OEMs are taking on the role of program integrator and outsourcing large percentages of design work to risk-sharing partners and high-tier suppliers,¡± explains Stephen Shibel, director of aerospace industry solutions, Dassault Syst¨¨mes. ¡°At the same time, the expected timeframe from conception to first flight has shrunk from 8-10 years to 4-6.  Many things make this possible, but the backbone to this is for all stakeholders to work in a truly collaborative environment.¡±

Not all program participants have the same business structures and means.  Using scaleable, out-of-the-box solutions that communicate with the more costly and complex versions of CATIA and ENOVIA used by large OEMs is an easy way for smaller sized business to take part in major league programs.  ASCH, like all of DS¡¯s BPAs, is the result of hand-in-hand service engagements with industry-leading customers in order to transform specific applications and automate best business practices into standard software.  DS then bundles and extends this to the complete community of DS users and business partners.

Dassault Syst¨¨mes will demonstrate its 3D PLM solutions for aerospace at the Paris Air Show 2007, Le Bourget, June 18-24, Hall 2A, Booth A17.
