June 11 2007, Beijing  The global leading PLM vendor UGS PLM Software(branch of Simens A&D) Asia Pacific announced its fourth Asia Pacific PLM Innovation Award today.

This year’s big cup goes to Samsung co.Ltd—One of The Top Ten Global electron manufacturer. Chery Automobile, Shanghai BELL Alcatel, Haier and Mahindra & Mahindra gained different awards for their excellent papers. The Asia Pacific PLM Innovation Award has been held four years. (previously known as AP PLM Excellence Award). The Award recognizes customers in Asia Pacific who have achieved innovative business results through leveraging PLM solutions.

Number of papers participated this year is an all time record, the number of participants from Japan, China, South Korea and India all exceeded last years’. Attendees came from area like automobile, mechanical, high-tech electron, aviation and national defence. 

“UGS congratulate Samsung win this award and Samsung is worthy of it.”said Hans-Kurt Lübberstedt, senior vice president of UGS Asia Pacific. “Samsung is a perfect model, it showed how Asia enterprises improved their cognition of PLM fully, and use PLM as a important part in business stratagem and execution.

Jury evaluated every paper from aspects below: The operation challenges each company faced; The process and solution each company adopted  to conquer the challenges; Innovation in the implement of PLM; Benefit from PLM implement;

Winners will be invited to UGS Connection in 2008 in the U.S. to present their cases. Furthermore, the grand prize winner will receive a UGS Executive Collaboration Suite as well as the honor of keeping the PLM Innovation Award traveling trophy for one year. The UGS Executive Collaboration Suite consists of Teamcenter Community with training and maintenance for one year combined with hardware set.
