Chang'an Ford Automobile Co - the joint venture between Chang'an Automotive Group and US carmaker Ford Motor Co - surpassed the 1 million sales mark on August 26, less than a decade after it began production in 2003.
The company credited robust sales to its vehicles' "performance, quality, safety, technology, styling and fuel efficiency".
The joint venture plans to further advance production of environmentally friendly models using the US automaker's EcoBoost GDTI, Powershift and MyFord Touch technologies.
It also plans to open another 70 dealerships in the country this year.
