The final leg of IDC¡¯s 2016 China ICT Directions Roadshow kicked off today in Chengdu, following successful stops in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Guiyang and Beijing earlier this year.
The forum, held during the iWorld Conference 2016 under the theme of ¡°Digital Transformation at Scale: Innovation in a Changed World¡± explored how businesses can transform and innovate in the new age of digital transformation.

At the forum today, IDC analysts offered their insights on trends in China ICT market and the 3rd Platform-based ICT technologies. The forum also covered hot topics such as Virtual Reality, Big Data, China¡¯s 13th Five-year Plan and smart connected devices, as well as the Internet of Things. The ICT market has now entered a period of transition, both in China and worldwide. The traditional ICT market is experiencing a gradual growth slowdown. New 3rd Platform technologies have been utilized in the large-scale digital transformation of users, and the market continues to grow. However, ICT vendors still face a number of challenges, including weak economic growth, intensifying competition, increasingly stringent and customized demand from users, and transformation for future growth. Discovering ways to improve the customer experience, rebuild business operation models, make efficient use of information and attract talent should now be high on the agendas of industry players.

¡°Compared to other parts of the world, China¡¯s ICT market remains in the best of times,¡± said Kitty Fok, Managing Director of IDC China. ¡°The next five years will witness explosive development of the service sector and smart manufacturing, marking a crucial period for Chinese enterprises to really begin their globalization push, and representing a critical stage for accelerating innovation and entrepreneurship. Digital transformation at scale is the direction of future business development.¡±

In addition to 2016 China ICT Directions Forum, IDC China also held the ¡°Startups Marketplace¡± exhibition during iWorld Expo, connecting Chinese innovative startup companies with the outside world. ¡°We benefited a lot as a startup in this ¡®marketplace¡¯,¡± said Mr. Davis Dang, President of a Chongqing-based health technology company. ¡°During the exhibition, we came across a lot of potential opportunities and witnessed innovation in technologies in our industry. We are truly grateful that IDC offers such a great platform to startup companies like us.¡±

The innovative design of a conceptual city was a highlight of IDC¡¯s exhibition as the intertwining roads symbolized how technology connects us all. It gave the audience a first-hand experience of IDC¡¯s insights into the latest trends in the IT industry, along with innovative technologies from different startups.

Chengdu Mayor Liangzhi Tang appreciated IDC for its ¡°Startups Marketplace¡± initiative when he stopped at the IDC¡¯s exhibition during his tour of iWorld Expo.

During iWorld Expo, IDC also took part in iWorld Summit Forum and delivered keynote speeches.

¡°As a world leading ICT research and services provider, IDC is rooted in the Chinese market while maintaining a global perspective,¡± said Kitty Fok, Managing Director of

IDC China. ¡°We look forward to building win-win partnerships with more and more government agencies and enterprises.¡±

iWorld Expo is the world¡¯s largest trade show focusing on mobile Internet and on Apple¡¯s ecosystem. iWorld Conference 2016, hosted by International Data Group (IDG), has become an important part of iWorld Expo, offering a valuable platform for companies to keep up with cutting-edge technologies and explore business opportunities in Asia and the rest of the world.
