Austrian Andritz Group is a global market leader in the supply of customized plants, systems, and services for the pulp and paper industry, the steel industry, and other specialized industries (solid/liquid separation, feed technology, water turbines). To integrate its system and make the management and business process transparent, Andritz decided to introduce an advanced global SAP ERP system with the assistance of? The Information Management Group (IMG).
IMG helped Andritz to successfully phase out its outdated ERP system, developed harmonized global ERP processes for all business units and built up one global SAP system that increases operational efficiency. Identifying Andritz' product attribution and its business process and daily transactions, IMG decided that the implementation should cover almost all dimensions of Andritz' operation The challenge facing the client and IMG was to introduce a global template that would rationally fit and unify the processes in Andritz's global business operation, while being flexible enough for localization.
The IMG China consultants serve as liaisons between the Core consultants and Andritz China users in a module-based implementation crossing business sectors and functional units from production floor (Production Planning, Material Management, etc) to management office (Investment, Financial and Controlling, Quality managemet, etc). Their primary tasks are to identify new business processes and local requirements with the support of Andritz China's key users, to supply process information and convert it into SAP format, thus forming a basis for developing solutions with the Core consultant. Other exemplary tasks are the design of an add-on user exit to meet special requirements, particularly in the manufacturing process, the training of users, system testing and future-proof confirmation, as well the implementation of the project under the monitoring of the proven procedural model PROMET (PROcess METhod). In the coming project phases up to September 2006, Andritz - together with IMG - will be expanding the project into its last phase. A successful go-live for Andritz China is close at hand! |
