BUSINESS solutions provider SAP Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a unit of German-based SAP AG, expects more Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to adopt the mySAP ERP application - a simplified and cost-effective version of SAP's enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.

"The templates consists of pre-configured scenarios and all the SME needs to do is to pick the ERP solution that best suits their business process. SMEs can save up to 30 per cent if they choose to adopt an ERP solution in this way," Ong said.
ERP software, or more widely known as the enterprise system, is a multi-function application that helps businesses to manage key operations like production planning, buying parts, maintain inventories, supplier interaction, customer service and order tracking. The purpose of ERP is to help managers operate their business more efficiently, providing them with information to forecast, plan production effectively and track financial performance accurately.
SAP says the mySAP ERP application is world-class, integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) software that addresses the core business software requirements of the most demanding mid-size and large organisations around the world - in all industries and sectors.
"Our templates won't be far from what the SMEs are doing, and if they choose to adopt it, there will not be a risk of cost over run or variation order," Ong said.
SAP has been the ERP leader in Asia-Pacific for more than a decade and its market share is now more than twice that of its nearest competitor.
The latest version of mySAP ERP includes more than 300 enhancements to provide firms with better information access and decision support, and new levels of usability and innovation.
It is the first application available today with built-in service-oriented architecture to help customers innovate and readily adapt to changes in their business with greater agility and at a lower cost than ever before.
