Mazda's April sales advance 19% on Mazda6, CX-5 volume
Mazda Motor Corp. sold 14,694 vehicles last month, a gain of 19 percent year-on-year.
The sales growth was mainly driven by two models, the redesigned Mazda6 sedan and the Mazda CX-5 SUV, according to Mazda's head office in China.
For the first four months of the year, the Japanese automaker's China sales have surged 21 percent from a year earlier to 69,722 vehicles.
To support continued sales growth in China, Mazda later this month plans to launch deliveries of the Mazda6 Atenza and the Mazda3 Axela, two models equipped with the company's Skyactiv direct injection engines.
It also plans to start selling the locally built Mazda CX-7 SUV by mid-year.
