Liaoning glass exports soar

Flat glass exports from Liaoning province reached 4.68 million metric tons in the first eight months of 2013, up 35 percent year-on-year, according to Shenyang Customs. The total export volume was $24.79 million.

The glass, widely used in real estate and the automobile industry, is one of China's key glass products. Thanks to steady global demand, exports from Liaoning province have increased since February.

Besides the traditional export markets, which maintained strong growth, Liaoning exported 670,000 tons to New Zealand (up 57.5 percent), 420,000 tons to South Korea (up 30.2 percent) and 320,000 tons to Nigeria (up 100 percent).
