Chinese vehicle prices fall in January
China's passenger vehicle prices continue to decline, and that's true for imports as well as China-made vehicles.
In January, the average price of passenger vehicles made in China declined 1.7 percent year-on-year, the National Development and Reform Commission reported.
Cars built in China suffered price declines of 3.2 percent, while domestic SUV prices slid 0.6 percent.
Likewise, the price of imported vehicles fell 4.2 percent. The average price of imported cars slumped 6.2 percent, while imported SUV prices slid 2.2 percent.
The commission, which monitors vehicle price trends in 36 medium and large Chinese cities, publishes monthly updates.
