FAW orders hybrid drive systems from Enova

Enova Energy Systems Inc. says it has received additional orders from China FAW Group Corp. for hybrid drive systems.

Enova delivered 50 hybrid drive systems in December, and received an order for 50 additional hybrid drives.

The drivetrains will power FAW's Jiefang, a city bus that can carry up to 103 passengers and travel at speeds over 80 kph. The Enova-powered Jiefang meets Euro III emissions standards.

Enova, which is based in Torrance, Calif., makes drive trains for electric, hybrid and fuel cell-powered vehicles.

FAW, which is based in the northeast city of Changchun, is China's third largest domestic automaker. Last year, FAW and its joint ventures sold 2.2 million vehicles.
