Harman to supply Changan Motors with audio, infotainment systems
Harman International Industries Inc. negotiated a contract with Chongqing Changan Automobile Co. to supply audio systems and develop an infotainment system for the automaker's new mid-sized luxury sedan.
The automaker's CD101 model will be equipped with a 10-speaker audio system, with a subwoofer and amplifier.
The U.S. audio systems supplier has four factories and two r&d centers that employ 1,200 workers in China.
Last year, Harman generated sales in China of $200 million, up from $35 million in 2009. The company hopes to capture a 30 percent share of China's audio market by 2013.
