Ricardo to develop diesel engine for Jianghuai
Britain's Ricardo PLC says it has signed a contract with Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co. to develop a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine for the Chinese automaker.
The new engine will meet the Euro 5 emission standards. It will be used in JAC's light-duty commercial vehicles including trucks and buses, which will be sold in and outside China.
JAC, which is located in the east China city of Hefei, sold 338,772 cars, MPVs, pickups, trucks and buses in the first nine months of 2011. That is up 12 percent year-on-year from 2010, according to J.D. Power.
