AVEVA has restructured its Chinese operations into two operational divisions.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, October 14, 2005 - In a strategic initiative to directly focus on the key industry sectors of marine, power, and process, AVEVA (LSE: AVV) has restructured its Chinese operations into two operational divisions. The move, a result of the high success and growth in AVEVA’s process and marine businesses, will dedicate AVEVA’s VANTAGE engineering solutions and personnel to the unique requirements associated with each of these industry sectors, delivering solutions, support and consultancy more effectively.

The two divisions will be run from AVEVA's Asia Pacific operation and headed by:

  • Liu Xiao Bin, Vice President, for the Guangzhou-based China Process and Power Division; and
  • Zhou Chun, Vice President, for the Shanghai-based China Marine Division.

The China Marine Division will be responsible for serving all aspects of marine engineering and construction (including both shipbuilding and offshore facilities), to organizations including:

  • China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC),
  • China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC),
  • China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO),
  • their subsidiaries and subcontractors.

In parallel, the China Process & Power Division will service the needs of the Power Design Institutes, process engineering companies and Plant Owner Operators, including:

  • Sinopec,
  • China Power Engineering Consulting (Group) Corporation (CPECC)
  • China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC),
  • China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC),
  • China National Chemical Engineering Corporation (CNCEC),
  • their subsidiaries and subcontractors.

The move will uniquely position AVEVA to meet the complex requirements of diverse organizations such as China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), who have both marine and process and power-focused subsidiaries.

Peter Finch, President of AVEVA’s Asia Pacific region stated: “We have achieved our success in China from our attention to customer service. This initiative will enable our Chinese team to continue delivering highly focused implementation, support and consultancy services to both existing customers and prospects in each of the major industry sectors. AVEVA’s business in China is growing faster than any other region and our industry-segmented divisions will ensure that growth is sustained. Liu, Zhou and their respective teams bring the high level experience and industry knowledge required to service the increasingly sophisticated needs of our local and international clients in the region”.
