Airbus targets Chinese market

Airbus plans to sell five new Airbus Corporate Jetliners (ACJ) in the greater China area each year during China's 12th Five-Year Period (2011-2015), the company announced in Shanghai on Wednesday.

To boost sales in the Chinese market, the company adjusted the cabin design reflect to traditional Chinese culture, the company said.

These jets, called "Phoenix," are worth over 100 million U.S. dollars each and cater to the color and furniture preferences of Asian customers. Airbus also specially created the red wine-colored interior for the Chinese market, the company said.

China has become the world's fastest growing market for corporate jets, holding 25 percent of ACJ's total world sales, according to the company.
