BYD sales fall in July for the fourth straight month

BYD Auto says it sold 33,046 vehicles in July, up 4 percent year-on-year, but 6 percent below June's sales, reports the automotive Web site gasgoo.com.

BYD, which is partially owned by billionaire investor Warren Buffett, originally had targeted sales of 800,000 units in 2010. But deliveries have been declining since April, and the company has reduced its target for the year to 600,000 units.

Sales of BYD sedans for the first seven months of the year totaled 322,060 units.
