Nissan's sales in China in first half up 51 percent

Nissan Motor Co. sold 503,077 vehicles in China in the first half of 2010, up 51 percent from a year earlier, according to Nissan (China) Investment Co.

"With this achievement Nissan accomplished 58 percent of its yearly sales target" of 867,000 units, Nissan (China) Investment said in a statement.

The Nissan brand sold 497,964 units in the six-month period, up 51 percent year-on-year. Infiniti sales soared 218 percent to 5,113 units.
