Lenovo takes on Apple in battle for Internet mobile market

Chinese computer giant Lenovo Group is planning to release a series of products to rival the American Apple Corporation's iPhone and iPad for domination over the growing mobile Internet market, said Lenovo Chairman Liu Chuanzhi on April 19.

"Lenovo will invest everything it has to take over this market," Liu said.

After a long study of Apple's board and management, Lenovo is determined to win in a fight against the iPhone, Liu said.

"We are trying to maintain the same level of technology or surpass it," he said.

On the same day, Lenovo China launched its mobile Internet strategy, and introduced LePhone, Skylight, Ideapad U160 notebook and other mobile Internet devices.

Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing said the company's confidence comes from the fact that in the Internet industry, local Chinese companies have won a landslide victory in the Chinese market.
