Changan Ford Recalling Fiestas For Tire Defects

Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Company, a joint venture between Changan Automobile and Ford Motor, is recalling 7,563 Ford Fiesta cars due to flaws in some tires.

The recall involves the 1.3L and 1.5L fashion versions of new Fiesta sedans, which were produced between October 22, 2008, and May 14, 2009.

Changan Ford Mazda said it would offer free test and repair services for the recalled cars.

From April 27, 2009, Changan Ford Mazda and FAW Car Company also started to recall some Focus, Mondeo Zhisheng, Mazda3, and Besturn cars. According to statistics from China's General Administration of Quality Inspection Supervision and Quarantine, the latest recall will involve a total of 13,097 cars. The two parties said that they make the recall mainly because of a hidden defect in the cars' glass roof.
