Hon Hai saw sales revenue recovery in March

The Taiwan-based Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd., the world's largest EMS provider, saw its March revenue surge 24.3% from February to hit NT$102.874 billion, effectively getting rid of sales declines seen in the preceding four consecutive months, according to company sources.

Edmund Ding, spokesperson of Hon Hai, indicated that the solid sales growth in the month is attributable partly to strong shipments of PCs ordered by international large-sized brands, and partly to a flood of rush orders for household electronics for sales in China's countryside regions.

Institutional investors estimated Hon Hai's sales revenue for the second quarter to rise further by 10-15% from the first quarter, pointing out that the firm's cutting-edge production efficiency and cost management will help the firm outbid other competitors in winning contract orders from internationally leading brands, like HP, Dell, Sony and Apple, which are actively seeking economical manufacturing solutions amid the global economic downturn.

On the other hand, Hon Hai's solid sales performance has indicated recovery in the PC manufacturing and related industries on the island, noted market analysts. For example, Acer Inc. and Asustek Computer Inc. both posted a monthly growth of over 30% in non-combined revenue in March, while Quanta Computer Inc. and Wistron Corp. respectively posted an around 20% and 40% growth in sales revenue in the month.
