MIIT: Chinese Mobile Phone Output Down 11.2% In First Two Months Of 2009

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has published a report on China's electronics manufacturing industry in the first two months of 2009, which states that the country's mobile phone output decreased by 11.2% during the period.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has published a report on China's electronics manufacturing industry in the first two months of 2009, which states that the country's mobile phone output decreased by 11.2% during the period.
 
The MIIT says affected by the global financial crisis, both the manufacturing and export of China's electronics products have been declining. In January and February 2009, the output growth rate of China's electronics industry decreased by 9.4% compared with the same period of 2008. At the same time, the export delivery value of the electronics industry decreased by 19% year-on-year.
 
For some major sectors, the number of integrated circuits manufactured during the period was 6.29 billion, increasing 16.4%; the output of digital program-controlled switches was 4.71 million, increasing 4.3%; the output of micro-computer equipment was 18.22 million, decreasing 4.3%; and the outputs of mobile phones and color TVs decreased 11.2% and 21.4%, respectively.
