iSIGHT-FD version 2.0 of Sightna appears on market

Engineous Software, provider of award-winning integration, automation, and design optimization technology, and related strategic services, announced the shipping of iSIGHT-FD version 2.0.

Engineous Software, provider of award-winning integration, automation, and design optimization technology, and related strategic services, announced the shipping of iSIGHT-FD version 2.0. The new release offers an extended set of design driver techniques that help users rapidly find better designs, as well as advanced visualization for easier interpretation of design results and additional components that reduce the effort to integrate commercial design and analysis tools.

New capabilities include a Stochastic Design Improvement (SDI) component, additional optimization techniques, a highly visual correlation map tool, enhanced data exchange, a Matlab? component, and major enhancements to the Visual Design Driver interface. Additionally, to simplify user’s tool integration efforts, Engineous along with its development partners, have created dozens of components that work with major commercial CAD and CAE programs. A partial list of these components can be found at http://www.engineous.com/iFD_components.htm.

“Research results from our CAE surveys indicate that manufacturers’ top pain points include CAD/CAE and multi-solver integration, driving design from analysis and capturing analysis knowledge,,” said Don Brown of Collaborative Product Development Associates (CPDA). “Tools like iSIGHT-FD 2.0 help bridge the gaps, easing the integration and automation of leading CAD and CAE tools. Ultimately, a comprehensive design/simulation framework will support analysis as an every day tool for all designers, supported by expert KBE.”

“We worked closely with our customers to define the requirements for the 2.0 release,” said JP Evans, Vice President of Marketing for Engineous Software. “This included customer validation surveys and hands-on product usability testing. These efforts helped us verify that we were hitting the mark in terms of the customers’ needs. The top three customer requests — improved visualization, better CAD/CAE integration and enhanced engineering methods are all reflected in the 2.0 release.”
