Geely August deliveries surge behind electrified volume, Lynk & CO
Geely Automobile Holdings’ sales continued to forge ahead in August, rising 30 percent to 125,522, as electrified vehicles and Lynk & CO joined the entry-level Geely brand in generating strong volumes.
During the month, Geely delivered 10,439 electrified vehicles including all- electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, the company said, without disclosing tallies for individual models.
Lynk & CO launched sales of its second model, the 02, in June. Combined deliveries of the brand’s first two products, the 01 and 02 compact crossovers, reached 13,674 in August. The August tally includes 9,303 01s and 4,371 02s.
In August, the Geely brand maintained strong sales with seven models each delivering more than 10,000 vehicles. Deliveries of the brand’s top-selling model, the New Emgrand compact sedan, reached 22,814.
Through August, Geely’s China sales totaled 1,012,429, surging 41 percent from the same period last year.
Geely is on track to achieve its annual sales target of 1.58 million vehicles in 2018, a jump of 27 percent from 2017.
Geely is based on the east China city of Hangzhou and listed in Hong Kong. Its parent Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. also owns Volvo Car Corp.
