China marine economy expo sees $13.6b in turnover
The recent 2017 China Marine Economy Expo in Guangdong province saw the signing of deals and cooperation plans worth 90.1 billion yuan ($13.6 billion).
The expo, held from Dec 14 to 17 in Zhanjiang city, attracted 421,000 visitors, and transaction volume registered a growth of 105 percent from last year's expo.
Over 3,200 companies from 63 countries and regions joined the event.
The expo demonstrated a series of advanced technological achievements in China, such as a scientific exploration ship, unmanned ship, deep submergence vehicle, and combustible ice exploration.
Initiated in 2012, the expo has been held five times and grown into an important platform for exhibition and cooperation.
