US Memphis Group to set up aviation industrial center in Tianjin

Memphis Group Inc. of the United States has signed an agreement with China Civil Aviation Science and Technology Industrial Base (CASTIB) and China Civil Aviation College on setting up an aviation industrial center in Tianjin

Memphis Group Inc. of the United States has signed an agreement with China Civil Aviation Science and Technology Industrial Base (CASTIB) and China Civil Aviation College on setting up an aviation industrial center in Tianjin, an industrial and port city in north China.

According to the agreement, the US leading aviation industrial giant is to invest a total of 200 million U.S. dollars on the construction and operation of the center.

The center will mainly engage in airplane and components maintenance, airplane refitting, spare parts production and distribution, and maintenance personnel training.

So far, more than 20 world leading aviation industrial firms have showed interest in setting up branches or plants in the CASTIB, China's sole aviation industrial and research base jointly set up by the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the Municipal Government of Tianjin in 2005.
