Baosteel completes 2 new steel processing plants in China

Baoshan Iron and Steel Co. invests US$25 mln to build plate cutting, rolled steel logistic centre in Hubei, China

(Asia In Focus Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)WUHAN, April 25 Asia in Focus - The BAOSHAN IRON AND STEEL COMPANY recently invested 200 million yuan (US$25 million) in building a plate cutting center and a rolled steel logistic center in Dunkou Development Zone in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province. According to Yangtze River Daily, the two centers will cover an area of 20 hectares.


* The plant will mainly provide plate storage, plate cutting and processing, and distribution services to a number of automakers, such as DONGFENG-CITROEN and DONGFENG HONDA, and some home electrical appliance manufacturers like HAIER and MIDEA.

* BAOSTEEL sold some 300,000 tons of steel plates valued at 1.5 billion yuan in central China in 2005 and it is expected that the sales of plates will double this year.
